** Disclaimer: I received a free advanced reader’s copy of Even If We Break by Marieke Nijkamp through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this opportunity.

It is about five friends who play a roleplay game together, and who are getting together for the last time only for things to go horribly wrong. Misc Monday | Anticipated September Releases

09.07.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

I can’t believe it’s September already.  2020 has been such a roller coaster ride and I don’t really want to get into that all, but it seems like it’s gone by in a blink.  I don’t know what the rest of the year has in store for us, but I do know that September has an insane amount of really good books coming out.  Let’s just jump into it.

Shelfie Sunday | July OwlCrate Unboxing

09.05.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

July’s OwlCrate had a Date with Destiny theme!  It was a cool premise and it featured a lot of really neat items.  I’m excited to be able to share them with you slightly more on time than I usually do!

Ashley’s August Wrap Up

08.31.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

August was a lighter reading month for me, and there really wasn’t all that much of a reason behind that.  I just didn’t read a lot, and instead did other things.  I will say that I ended up reading more physical copies that I usually do, which was neat. I also read a lot of different things at once, and didn’t finish them all. However, I did end up reading 16 books.  You’ll find everything I read below the cut.

Shelfie Sunday | June OwlCrate Unboxing

08.30.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

The June OwlCrate was a pretty cool box.  It had an “All The World’s a Stage” theme, which I loved and was super excited about.  I love that quote from Shakespeare, and it was really nice to see what items were included.  My apologies for the delay on posting this!

The Loyal Book-A-Thon | Back To School Edition

08.27.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

Hello friends!  Inspiration has struck Kari and I again, so we are back once more with another edition of The Loyal Book-A-Thon!  This time we took inspiration from everyone’s favourite time of year: back to school!  (I will admit to a little bit of sarcasm there, especially in light of the current times but I digress!)  Our next readathon will occur during the month of September and we really hope you’ll come along with us on this journey! 🙂

Blog Tour | Review – Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles

08.26.2020 by Kari // Leave a Comment

***Disclaimer: I received a free early access copy of Where Dreams Descend by Janella Angeles from NetGalley through Wednesday Books for review purposes. Thank you to Wednesday Books for the opportunity!

For an excerpt of this amazing book, be sure to check the end of the post!

I’ve heard this book be compared to Moulin Rouge and Caraval mixed together. While I haven’t read Caraval yet (I know, I know it’s on my TBR!), you had me at that comparison! This definitely did not disappoint!

Ashley’s August TBR | ScallywagAThon – August 16-23

08.13.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

August is kind of a catch up reading month for me, because I brought home a whole bunch of books from my classroom and school library and only dipped into a couple during July.  It meant that I have a whole bunch still left to read for August, so I never made a TBR post at the start of the month.  However, I’ve since decided to participate in the ScallywagAThon, which is hosted by HardbackHoarder, Paper Faerie, and Read All the Books.

Book Review | Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron

08.09.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

**Disclaimer: I recieved a free advanced reader’s copy of Cinderella is Dead through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you to the publishers and to NetGalley for this opportunity.

Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron is a young adult fantasy novel that takes place in the same world as Cinderella, but 200 years after Cinderella died.  It’s feminist and queer, and plays with that familiar story we all know.  The book published on July 7th, 2020.  I rated it three stars.
