It’s the time of the month where I finally upload my March OwlCrate unboxing. I was pretty excited because it was the fifth anniversary box, so I figured it was going to be pretty special. The theme for March was Music of the Night, and overall I really liked it.
Misc Monday | May Anticipated Releases
May is a month where I get a little bit restless because I start anticipating summer break a little bit. However, it’s still a good month for reading and there are some particularly exciting books coming out this month.
Shelfie Sunday | February OwlCrate Unboxing – A Power Within
Oops! I am definitely behind on my OwlCrate unboxings. I’m just going to jump straight into the February one, for which the theme was ‘A Power Within’.
Ashley’s May TBR
And here we are in May, and I genuinely don’t know where the time went. April was one of those months that went incredibly quickly, but yet also seemed to drag on. I also participated in two readathons which made me have this crazy incredible reading month. I don’t think that I will have that good of a reading month this time around, and I’m definitely putting far less pressure on myself to read a ton. However, I do still have some reading plans for the month of May, and you’ll find them below the cut.
Ashley’s April Wrap Up
This was a crazy reading month for me. I felt really slumpy back in March and then had to transition into working from home. I expected that I wouldn’t really get a lot of reading done this month despite participating in both the OWLs Magical Readathon and our Loyal Book-a-Thon. I figured I’d read those, and that would be about it. However, I ended up getting through a lot of books and finished off both readathons pretty early in the month. Working from home meant that I could listen to audiobooks while working, and it’s made me a lot more efficient reader. So I’m pretty proud of the fact that in April I read 34 books/novellas. You’ll find everything I read below the cut. 🙂
Ashley’s April Haul
What a weird month this has been! I’ve been doing a ton of reading, but not a lot of book buying, which is probably for the best. However, I did still end up with some books this month so we’re going to do a quick and dirty haul for you today.
Book Review | #bestiemademe | Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller
April’s #bestiemademe read is Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller! I listened to this one as an audiobook, just to switch it up from the usual style I’ve done for reading the previous #bestiemademe books. Daughter of the Pirate King is a YA fantasy novel about, you guessed it, the daughter of the pirate king, Alosa. I rated it four stars on Goodreads.
Tag Tuesday | Five Finger Tag
I love how people draw inspiration for these bookish tags from the most everyday of things. Personally there are some things I would change on this tag, but it’s not mine so I’m rolling with the punches here. Check out my answers below the cut.
Book Review | #bestiemademe – We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
I read We Were Liars at the beginning of this year. I forgot exactly when Ashley recommended it to me, but it was long enough for me to have had it on my TBR, finally buy a copy, and then have it sit there for a little while longer.
Due of the nature of this book, it’s going to be a short and vague review. I do apologize in advance.
Misc Monday | April Anticipated Reads
I kind of debated not making this post this month because when I looked up April releases, there weren’t too many books that I was super interested in. However, I think I’ve pretty much made this a monthly segment on this blog so I think I will keep doing it.
