two friends and too many books

This is another year where I set a resolution to read more of what I already own and to buy less books. However, I have to admit that I’m not doing so well on that resolution this far. There’s still time to get better at it…but we’ll see how it goes.

One of my favourite series of this year was The Cruel Prince series. I loved and hated the characters. I loved the books. I was SO excited when I heard that Queen of Nothing was being published earlier than anticipated because the ending of The Wicked King had me angsting for the next book.
OwlCrate has been by my side for a most of the time that I’ve been really active in the bookish online community. It’s the subscription service that I get every month and I’m always so excited about it. To be clear, I purchase this every month and this is not an ad.
December is one of my favourite months of the year. I am a little biased though because it’s my birthday and it’s also Christmas. I really love Christmas time. It’s the perfect time to get cosy with a book, and it’s also really fun because people sometimes buy you books as presents. This month I have a pretty good haul. You’ll find it below the cut.
There were so many books I wanted to read in November but I was good! I only bought a few books for me, and then I got a few books for Christmas gifts.
October is not the traditional month to go crazy when buying things, but it is a month where I start to get more into the swing of the school year. Things get super busy and hectic and I get more stressed. In order to combat that stress, I tend to want to treat myself. I know that’s not sure healthy, but it did help make me feel a little better. That being said, I picked up a few cool books this month. You’ll find them below the cut!
September was such a light month for me when it comes to hauling books. There were a bunch of books that I wanted to buy but I did my best to restrain myself and I only let myself purchase two outside of my subscription boxes that I got. I haven’t been doing very well on my resolution of not buying as many books this year, but I’m doing way better than I did last year, so that’s a definitely a plus. Another month, another haul. Somehow I keep acquiring books, but I was really good about buying books this month. I only got three new books, and two were very kindly sent to me by publishers. While I haven’t read any of them yet, I am very excited about all of them. Check them out below the cut!
This was a month of bargains! I found myself called by the siren that is Book Outlet! I love this site so much because you can get some really good books for low prices. I picked up a whole bunch of books from there, plus my Owl Crate, and most recently a trip to Indigo to pick up some sequels. You can find my haul under the cut.
I felt like I kept my book buying to a minimum in June. I hauled six books, which is maybe not super reasonable in terms of shelf space but in comparison to some past months where I went a little crazy with my purchases, I felt pretty good about this one. One was a preorder, one was from an order last month, one was from Owl Crate, and then three were from my trip to the bookstore with my boyfriend this month. I’ve also already read two of these! 🙂 Without further ado, let’s jump into the list of books I hauled in June.
