Book Review | Harrow Lake by Kat Ellis

07.22.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

**Disclaimer: I received a free advanced reader’s copy of Harrow Lake by Kat Ellis through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for this opportunity.

Harrow Lake by Kat Ellis is a stand-alone novel. It’s classified as a young adult horror novel and deals with some rather sensitive topics, so readers beware. It’s about a girl named Lola who is learning more about her family history in a rather spooky small town. Harrow Lake, according to NetGalley, is set to be published on August 25th, 2020. I gave it five stars on Goodreads.

Tag Tuesday | Ruler of Books

06.02.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

When I was little, I would play make believe, and every so often I would pretend to be royalty.  I was always fascinated by the concept.  However, I didn’t just pretend to be a princess.  I also remember a time when my cousin, my little brother, and I pretended to be former Prime Ministers of Canada at the behest of my cousin who has always been interested in politics.  In today’s Tag Tuesday, we are going to pretend that I am the ruler of books.  You’ll find my answers below the cut.

Misc Monday | Six Month 28th Year Reading Update

06.01.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

My half birthday is on Wednesday so I thought we were about due for an update on the books I was planning on reading this year.  I haven’t done as well with this as I was hoping to, but at least there are still another six months until my birthday to attempt to finish it all up.

Q: What’s on your TBR for March? . . A: These ar Q: What’s on your TBR for March?
.

A: These are my books for the March #tbrtacklechallenge prompts. I have two options for a classic because I’m not sure which I will read yet. I also have some eARCs that I want to check out and some audiobooks signed out from the library.
.
.
I can’t believe it’s March already. I feel like this year has been flying by. Just two more weeks til spring break which marks a year since the start of the quarantining and locking down in my province. We went off for spring break and didn’t come back for a few months. It’s been a strange year but I’m ready for that time off.

A: I ended up reading 32 books in February, which is pretty crazy. Some of them were graphic novels, and I also had a few graphic novels. However, there were definitely some physical reads too! Overall I’m proud of myself.

Hi friends 💙 So we all know Geralt is from the Hi friends 💙

So we all know Geralt is from the school of the Wolf. However, there’s also the Cat (also known to produce “evil”), Bear, Griffin, Viper, Manticore, and Crane. I think I’d like to be part of the Wolf or the Bear or Viper schools to be honest!

That being said, what are some of your favorite books with animals in them?

Hi friends! 💙 Hope your Sunday is going well. Hi friends! 💙

Hope your Sunday is going well. I just finished by case brief and compare and contrast for my class, so I’m feeling rather accomplished right now.

What are you currently reading?

Right now I’m reading A Song of Wraiths and Ruins. It’s so good!

I’m excited to pick up this badass lady series as well.
