The Dead and the Dark by Courtney Gould is a young adult novel.  I would classify it as a horror book or perhaps a paranormal mystery.  The book is about two young girls, Logan and Ashley, who become caught up in a mystery as teenagers in the town of Snakebite are disappearing and the two decide to team up to solve the mystery.  I rated it five stars on Goodreads.  It is set to be published on August 3rd, 2021.

My Contrary Mary by Cynthia Hand, Brodi Ashton, and Jodi Meadows is the first in their new series about famous Mary’s.  This particular book is more of a direct sequel to My Lady Jane, about Lady Jane Grey.  This particular book focusses on Mary, Queen of Scots, prior to her marriage to Francis and the events that lead up to it and that follow it.  I rated it four stars on Goodreads.  It was published on June 22nd, 2021.
