two friends and too many books
June’s book for the #bestiemademe challenge is Spin the Dawn by Elizabeth Lim. Kari has also reviewed this book, and you can find that here. She absolutely loved it, and honestly, this is another recommendation that she knocked out of the park. I really, really had a good time reading this book and I ended up giving it 4 stars on Goodreads.

I was able to get an early look at Wicked Saints last year, so I’m so grateful that I was able to get to do the same with the sequel! The first book was super enjoyable, however, I believe this time the sequel was even better.

May marked another month of me working from home, so it meant that I listened to a lot of audiobooks again. However, I also got to read some physical books, and I checked some of the beefier reads off my TBR. Overall, it was a really good reading month and I felt like I really enjoyed a lot of the things that I read. Everything that I read can be found below the cut!
I love Sarah J. Maas. I am #maastrash, but not as big as some people are. Yet I will read pretty much anything she puts out.
My first series of hers was actually ACOTAR because I started reading last year around the time A Court of Frost and Starlight came out. I finally made my way to Throne of Glass last year and I recent reread via Audible made me want want to write this review. It reminded me of how much I love the world Maas built and the awesomeness that is Celaena Sardothien.

This was a crazy reading month for me. I felt really slumpy back in March and then had to transition into working from home. I expected that I wouldn’t really get a lot of reading done this month despite participating in both the OWLs Magical Readathon and our Loyal Book-a-Thon. I figured I’d read those, and that would be about it. However, I ended up getting through a lot of books and finished off both readathons pretty early in the month. Working from home meant that I could listen to audiobooks while working, and it’s made me a lot more efficient reader. So I’m pretty proud of the fact that in April I read 34 books/novellas. You Let Me In by Camilla Bruce is an adult novel that falls in sort of the mystery thriller genre. However, it has some fantasy and horror elements as well. It tells the story of Cassandra Tipp as she writes about her life before she mysteriously disappeared. I gave it 4 stars on Goodreads. You Let Me In releases on April 21st.
April’s #bestiemademe read is Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller! I listened to this one as an audiobook, just to switch it up from the usual style I’ve done for reading the previous #bestiemademe books. Daughter of the Pirate King is a YA fantasy novel about, you guessed it, the daughter of the pirate king, Alosa. I rated it four stars on Goodreads.

Call Me By Your Name was one of my favorite reads last year. After I read the book, we had to go out and get the movie to watch as well. It’s definitely not a story for everyone, but for me it was a beautiful love story that left me wanting more. When I heard Find Me was going to be published, I knew that I needed to read it as soon as possible.
