two friends and too many books
The June OwlCrate was a pretty cool box. It had an “All The World’s a Stage” theme, which I loved and was super excited about. I love that quote from Shakespeare, and it was really nice to see what items were included. My apologies for the delay on posting this!
People have been getting so creative during this pandemic. Personally, I haven’t been, but I have found some inspiration from places like Book Twitter, and BookTube. One trend that I found that I think is really cool is this whole book covers as outfits trend. I really, really wanted to do it but was nervous because my wardrobe isn’t extensive. I also wanted to play with makeup, but I’m not particularly talented at it. However, I thought it could be a fun blog post, so you’ll find that below the cut.
I was so excited when I found out about this box. A Court of Thorns and Roses is a really cool series and I enjoyed the world building and the characters. Lately a lot of my friends are reading this and it’s giving me a lot of need to reread it. I especially need to reread it after getting this box.
This is a weird thing to write about. I have to admit that as I start this post, I’m not 100% certain about where I’m going with this. You’re going to have to bear with me as I explore my thoughts and feelings. I’m not going to get too personal on this, but I just want to talk about how I’ve been feeling lately.
One of my favourite series of this year was The Cruel Prince series. I loved and hated the characters. I loved the books. I was SO excited when I heard that Queen of Nothing was being published earlier than anticipated because the ending of The Wicked King had me angsting for the next book.
Another year and another year of reading! There’s something about a fresh start and a new year that just makes me really excited! So because 2020 is here, I decided to set a new batch of reading resolutions. Well, they are somewhat similar to last years, but personally I don’t mind that so much.
In 2019, I tried to do too much when it came to my resolutions. I had too many because I was trying to fill up a page in my bullet journal. This year I fine tuned and narrowed it down. I didn’t want to overwhelm myself to the point where I didn’t have any motivation to do anything. This year I set seven resolutions and you’ll find them below the cut
As I read so much, it makes sense for me to set some specific resolutions for my reading. I think I set just about as many reading resolutions as personal ones. Was I more successful in the reading ones? Well, you’ll have to see for yourself below the cut.
I have mixed feelings about New Years Resolutions but I always seem to set them anyways. I don’t always have the best follow through, but I try to set some basic goals that I want to try and keep up. I set a lot of resolutions this past year, and I’m curious to see how I did with them before I set next years.
One of my most anticipated reads this month, this year even, was Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater. The Raven Cycle is one of my favourite series and when I caught the first hint of the upcoming Dreamer Trilogy, I was super excited. I knew I had to read it and get my own copy.
