Ashley’s November Wrap Up

11.30.2019 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

I had a rather interesting reading month this month! I thought I was having a bad one where I hadn’t read very many books, but I ended up reading 16, which is pretty good in my opinion. I also read my longest book of the year this month, and did okay at catching up on some series that I had been procrastinating on. Find out what I read below the cut!

Ashley’s November TBR

11.01.2019 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

I don’t know what it is about me, but it seems like lately I have developed a fear of finishing series. I want to finish these series because I have loved them so so much, but I get scared when it comes to the ending and put off reading it even though the books grace my shelves with their presence. I’ve decided in November that I am going to try and make myself wrap up some series I’ve been procrastinating on!

Ashley’s October Book Haul

10.30.2019 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

October is not the traditional month to go crazy when buying things, but it is a month where I start to get more into the swing of the school year. Things get super busy and hectic and I get more stressed. In order to combat that stress, I tend to want to treat myself. I know that’s not sure healthy, but it did help make me feel a little better. That being said, I picked up a few cool books this month. You’ll find them below the cut!

Ashley’s August TBR | NEWTs Readathon

08.01.2019 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

I am so excited for August because I’m participating in the NEWTs readathon, which is a continuation of the magical readathon.  So, this month’s TBR is dedicated to completing that so that I can try and pursue my chosen magical career which is: auror!  I asked for help deciding on my bookstagram and the vote was really close and that’s what I’m going for!  I will be prioritizing the NEWTs needed to become an auror.  However, I am a bit of a glutton for punishment so I think I’m going to set a tentative TBR for the rest of the prompts and challenge myself to see how much I can get read in August.  Keep in mind that this is all pretty flexible depending on what I can and can’t get. You’ll find my TBR below the cut.

Ashley’s July Wrap Up

07.31.2019 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

July was a crazy busy month for me! It was my first month of summer vacation and I had a bunch of stuff on the go: a garage sale, a wedding, camping, and helping my parents move! However, in between and around all those things I was able to get a bunch of reading done. I read 26 books in July. You can find my Wrap Up and brief reviews under the cut.

Ashley’s July Haul

07.30.2019 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

This was a month of bargains!  I found myself called by the siren that is Book Outlet!  I love this site so much because you can get some really good books for low prices.  I picked up a whole bunch of books from there, plus my Owl Crate, and most recently a trip to Indigo to pick up some sequels. You can find my haul under the cut.

Review | Please Send Help by Alison Raskin and Gaby Dunn

05.26.2019 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

**Disclaimer: I received a free copy of Please Send Help for review purposes from NetGalley.  Thank you to the publishers for this opportunity.

Please Send Help by Alison Raskin and Gaby Dunn is the follow up novel to I Hate Everyone But You.  It takes place three or four years after the initial story, and continues to tell us Gen and Ava’s story.  Gen and Ava are best friends and have been since high school. They went to different colleges and so their friendship became long distance and both books are told through text messages and emails.  The first is their first year of separation, and Please Send Help is the story of them being fresh out of college and working their first jobs.  The girls are older and wiser, sort of, and navigating the world of adulthood.

Review | You’d Be Mine by Erin Hahn

12.31.2018 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

**Disclaimer: I received a free copy of You’d Be Mine by Erin Hahn through NetGalley for review purposes.  Thank you to the publishers and NetGalley for this opportunity.

You’d Be Mine is the story of Annie Mathers and Clay Coolidge.  Clay is the quintessential country rockstar. He sings songs about beer, babes, and trucks; he’s a superstar.  Annie, on the other hand, is an up and coming country star whose deceased parents are country royalty. Clay, who has a bit of a bad boy reputation, is charged with recruiting Annie, and her band, to play on his summer tour so that he can put himself back in his label’s good books.  She reluctantly agrees and they end up touring the United States together. But while touring, country music isn’t the only thing that’s brewing. Could there be a bit of love in the air?

Review | Chemistry Lessons by Meredith Goldstein

08.29.2018 by Kari // Leave a Comment

chemistrylessonsChemistry Lessons by Meredith Goldstein is a light and quick read. I ended up finishing it one night before bed.

I really enjoyed this book. What initially drew me in was the cover. I’m a very visual person and covers play a big factor when I search for books that I might be interested in. I loved how it conveyed the ‘science’ aspect and ‘bubbly romance’ in a complimentary way. It really helps sell the story.
