Welcome to a new segment that Kari and I are introducing to the blog: #bestiemademe! This is where we each recommend a book to the other for the month to read and review. This month I read The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowksi, which is 0.5 in The Witcher series.
Today I’ve proudly teamed up with TLC Book Tours to highlight a great read! This is the third and final installation for The Initiation Series, entitled The Insurrection. Author Chris Babu gives a YA dystopian world that’s a fast paced read and very, very exciting!

**Disclaimer: I received a free advanced reader’s copy of Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to them and the publishers for this opportunity.
Foul is Fair by Hannah Capin is a Macbeth retelling as a YA contemporary novel. All the characters from the iconic Shakespearean tragedy have been translated into well off high school students in sunny California. I gave this book 5 stars on Goodreads.

I love dark academia with a fiery passion in my soul. Ninth House was probably the number one of my must reads for 2019 releases and I’m extremely excited to say that it did not disappoint at all! I own every one of Leigh Bardugo’s books and as much as I love the Grishaverse, I believe that Alex Stern has made her way to the number one place in my heart.

Did you know February has 29 days this year? That’s pretty cool. I figured that out when I was creating this list.

It’s a Leap Year this year! It’s so weird to have this one little bonus day, and I’m kind of excited because it’s one more day of reading for me. I have a nice variety of books I’m planning on picking up this month. You’ll find them below the cut.

I love the feeling of a fresh year of reading. There’s always so much anticipation when it comes to the new books I’ll pick up or even the old books that I’ll revisit.
I’m off to a good start when I comes to reading this year. In January I read 21 books, of a variety of qualities. One was pretty low in the rating departments, but one will be one of my favourites of the year.
You’ll find everything I read below the cut:

This is another year where I set a resolution to read more of what I already own and to buy less books. However, I have to admit that I’m not doing so well on that resolution this far. There’s still time to get better at it…but we’ll see how it goes.
You’ll find everything I got in January below the cut:

What Kind of Girl by Alyssa Sheinmel is a young adult contemporary novel that comes out on February 4th. It is a poignant story that is highly relevant to today’s society as it deals with sensitive subjects in a nuanced way. I gave the novel 5 stars on Goodreads.
That\'s all folks. No other posts to show
