I love dark academia with a fiery passion in my soul. Ninth House was probably the number one of my must reads for 2019 releases and I’m extremely excited to say that it did not disappoint at all! I own every one of Leigh Bardugo’s books and as much as I love the Grishaverse, I believe that Alex Stern has made her way to the number one place in my heart.

Tweet Cute was an amazingly fast and fun read. It had elements of surprise and I loved the modern spin on a traditional “meet cute” trope.

When I heard that Adrienne Young was coming out with a book similar to her debut, Sky in the Deep, I knew I absolutely needed to read it! It was one of my most anticipated releases of 2019. After a bit of a hiccup in my reading, I was finally able to devour it in a short time.

Film Friday | ‘Joker’ Review
A couple Sundays ago, my husband and I went to see Joker. I’ll admit, I hadn’t watched any trailers or really had any interest at all in this movie because I’m not a huge fan of Batman (though he is in DC character I like besides Wonder Woman) and because, well, the Joker is a bit overrated anymore. However, I wasn’t against seeing this film. My husband had heard nothing but great things from our friend so we went to see it!
Full review under the cut for spoilers.
Writing Wednesday | Mamoru Chiba
Hello and welcome to this week’s Writing Wednesday!
Fun fact: Ashley and I actually met on a writing forum a couple of years ago. That’s when we started to talk about books and everything else under the sun!
So here’s something I wrote for a forum several years back. It’s about the character Chiba Mamoru aka Tuxedo Mask from Sailor Moon.
I would like to state that everything in regards to Sailor Moon is owned by Naoko Takeuchi, Viz Media, Toei Animation, etc. I don’t own it, I just wrote something fun about the character.
Book Review | American Royals by Katharine McGee
***Disclaimer: I received a free early access copy of American Royals by Katharine McGee from NetGalley through Random House Children’s for review purposes. Thank you so much for opportunity.
I really love a good drama. Is it a guilty pleasure? Maybe, but I definitely don’t feel guilty about it so it shouldn’t be classified as such.
Shows like Gossip Girl and Dynasty always hook me in. Rich people and their intricate problems! But they’re just like everyone else, right?
I’m a fan of The Thousandth Floor, so when I heard Katharine McGee was coming out with this, I knew I had to read it.

Not sure what else the appropriate response for the tagline of ‘Project Runway meets Mulan‘ is other than YES PLEASE!
