Tag Tuesday | #flexibooktag

06.04.2024 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

What kind of reader are you?  One of my friends calls me a veloci-reader, which is a really corny term but I kind of love it.  It is true.  I read a lot, and I read quickly.  That’s why I thought it would be fun to answer some of these questions today from an old tag that I was challenged to do back in my bookstagram days.  It’s a quick one, but how about you?  Let me know in the comments.

Do you read a book in one sitting?

  • I often do read a book in one sitting, but it ultimately depends on the book or the day.  The other day I was talking to my friends and I told them that I read a book yesterday, and they asked if I had just finished it.  I said that I hadn’t and had started and finished it.  They were shocked, but that’s not all that abnormal for me.  I love reading and I read a lot, so some days I will pick up a book and then I will finish it all in the same sitting.  Some times, I take longer with a book.

When did you get into reading?

  • I got into reading when I was little.  I remember signing out two Nancy Drew books from the library in elementary school and sneakily reading them during class.  It only spiralled from there.  When I was in university, I took a pause from reading except for when I was on holiday breaks, but near the end I was gifted a Kobo and that sparked my love of reading again.  There’s been no looking back since then.

Do you get sick while reading in a car or vehicle?

  • I do sometimes, but it depends on what I’m reading.  Sometimes I can read a lot of a book while the car is in motion, but then sometimes I just can’t do that.  However, most times I just don’t bother reading in a moving vehicle, and just wait for it to be parked.  I do a lot of reading when I am on a ferry for example.

Do you read comics/mangas?

  • I have tried to get into manga but I haven’t had much luck with it.  It’s just not my preferred style of reading.  That being said, I have gotten pretty into graphic novels recently.  I love the way that the visuals are paired with the story and dialogue.  It’s why I want to love manga, but I just haven’t gotten the hang of the formatting of manga yet.  Maybe one day.
