Shelfie Sunday | September Owl Crate

01.17.2021 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

The September OwlCrate box was a pretty great box.  I’m usually quite happy with the OwlCrates, but I loved the practicality of a bunch of the items in this box.  Overall, they did a wonderful job with the curation of this box.

Top 5 Thursday | Ashley’s Best Reads of 2020

01.07.2021 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

I had an amazing reading year in 2020.  I read way more books than I expected I would read and more than I probably will ever read in a year again.  It was a messy year, but I read a lot of books which is pretty great.  This is going to be a quick overview of my favourite books that I read this year. It is also going to be a few more than the top 5, so I’m sorry about that.

**Disclaimer: I received a free early access copy of Lore by Alexandra Bracken through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you to them and the publisher for this opportunity.

Lore by Alexandra Bracken is a young adult fantasy novel set in a world where the Greek gods walk the Earth as humans.  Lore thought she escaped the world she was raised after the murder of her parents, but finds herself sucked back in. It is set to be published on January 5th, 2021.  I rated it five stars on GoodReads.

**Disclaimer: I received a free early access copy of The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.  Thank you to them and the publisher for this opportunity.

The Wife Upstairs by Rachel Hawkins is an adult thriller novel that is also a retelling of Jane Eyre.  Jane is trying to make a better life for herself, and gets caught up in a complicated situation with a handsome, wealthy man.  As they get closer, she starts to realize that perhaps things are not what they seem. It is set to be published on January 5th, 2021.  I rated it four stars on GoodReads.
