September was a hectic month, but it always is when you consider that it’s back to school for me as a teacher. However, I also was taking a course, which was wrapping up, and then I started another one, which overlapped with that first one. It makes for a busy time of year. Fortunately, I was still able to get some reading in. I also picked up some books that I am very excited about.

Reader, I Murdered Him by Betsy Cornwell is a young adult historical fiction novel. The novel is narrated by Adele, Mr. Rochester’s ward from Jane Eyre. The story details how she came to be with Mr. Rochester and then her life after the events of Jane Eyre, so you get to see how she could have hypothetically ended up. The novel is set to be published on October 11th, 2022. I rated it 4 stars on Goodreads.

Frizzy by Claribel A. Ortega is a middle grade graphic novel about a young girl who is learning to come to terms with her hair and the outside perceptions of it. I rated it four stars on Goodreads. It is set to be published on October 18th, 2022.
