OwlCrate has been by my side for a most of the time that I’ve been really active in the bookish online community. It’s the subscription service that I get every month and I’m always so excited about it. To be clear, I purchase this every month and this is not an ad.
December’s theme was Tales of Trickery, and I was a fan of it. It had some items I was really into, and some I was a little less into. Additionally, I’m not usually very good at guessing what book will be included but when I saw the description I had a little bit of an idea and I was really hopeful. I was so glad to be right. Let’s get into the items, which I have photographed somewhat in the way of the monthly photo challenge they do.
- Exclusive OwlCrate Pin Design Colouring Book by Team OwlCrate
I have to admit that the colouring book wasn’t my favourite item this month. I liked that it was a unique idea and that it was celebrating the introduction of the monthly pins. However, I just don’t usually sit down and colour, so it’s not the most useful item to me.
- Pencil Crayons by Team OwlCrate
The pencil crayons will be a useful item to me though. I’m definitely more into those than the colouring book because I’m trying to get back into Bullet Journaling this year. The little bookish hashtags on each pencil were cute.
- Caraval Inspired Ear Muffs by Team OwlCrate
The design of these ear muffs were super cute and I love the idea of it. My ears are pretty sensitive and get really cold really easily sometimes so you’d think this was the perfect item for me. Unfortunately it doesn’t really fit on my head so I can’t wear it.
- Sky in the Deep Hand Warmers by Kit Cronk Studio
This is such a cute idea. I love that it’s a reusable item too because it would suck if this was one time only hand warmer. It doesn’t get very cold where I live but if I ever go somewhere cold this will be a big help!
- Mount Ruin Grace and Fury Candle by Novelly Yours
I love candles. They’re always a solid item to include in a box and this one smelled so good. I love cinnamon smelling things. I should really get around to reading the book inspiration soon.
- Enamel Pin by Read and Wonder
This pin has a lovely design and I really liked it. My only concern with pins is that I keep failing to get myself another pin banner and I’ve run out of space on the one OwlCrate sent earlier this year.
- Sorcery of Thorns Book Sleeve by Chatty Nora
I was so excited when I got this book sleeve out of the box because I was able to guess the quote. It’s a great size and I love the design of it. I’ve already used this in my travels over the holidays.
- December’s Book: The Guinevere Deception by Kiersten White
As soon as I saw the hint for this month’s books I wondered if it was the book it turned out to be, but I wasn’t sure if it was because of the books actual release date. But in the end I was right and I was so excited! It’s such a cool idea, and I love the exclusive cover. I’m definitely excited to get to this book soon!
This wasn’t my favourite box from this year, but I still really liked it. There were some standout items that I will get lots of use out of.
