It’s that time of year again; time for the OWLs Magical Readathon. I have to admit that I’m pretty dang excited. I could use a distraction from everything that is going on right now. So I’m definitely excited to spend some time devouring some books and escaping from real life. It’s also an extra exciting month because Kari and I are hosting the inaugural Loyal Book-a-Thon: Quarantine Edition. Find out more here.
The Loyal Book-a-Thon | The Quarantine Edition
Hello, friends! Kari and I are starting a new regular readathon, which we are calling The Loyal Book-a-Thon. Every three-four month we will have a new theme, and our first theme is ‘The Quarantine Edition.’ Obviously, we were inspired by current events. Our intent is not to make light of the situation, but to have some fun despite everything that’s happening. Some people might have more time to read, so we thought it was good timing.
Ashley’s December Wrap Up
How is it the end of the year already? I can’t believe we’re about to start a brand new decade. This past month I read 18 books, which is pretty exciting because I officially beat my record of books read this year by reading 235! I also participated in the winter session of the Magical Readathon, which was definitely fun. I have a few books at the beginning of January to finish it up. You’ll find everything I read this month below the cut.
Tag Tuesday | 2019 A to Z Reading Challenge
Before I got really into bookstagram and tags, I never knew there was such a thing as an A to Z challenge. I think it’s actually a pretty cool thing to do. I tried to do one last year, but I wasn’t super successful so I thought I would try again this year.
Ashley’s August TBR | NEWTs Readathon
I am so excited for August because I’m participating in the NEWTs readathon, which is a continuation of the magical readathon. So, this month’s TBR is dedicated to completing that so that I can try and pursue my chosen magical career which is: auror! I asked for help deciding on my bookstagram and the vote was really close and that’s what I’m going for! I will be prioritizing the NEWTs needed to become an auror. However, I am a bit of a glutton for punishment so I think I’m going to set a tentative TBR for the rest of the prompts and challenge myself to see how much I can get read in August. Keep in mind that this is all pretty flexible depending on what I can and can’t get. You’ll find my TBR below the cut.
Ashley’s March Wrap Up
March has come to an end. I have no idea where the time went, but here we are getting ready for April. This wasn’t my best reading month, and I seem to recall that last March I read almost thirty books. So this month wasn’t quite that, but considering I took a lengthy vacation where I visited one of my best friends in the world and had minimal time to read, I did pretty good. This month I read 20 books, and I will say on the whole that it was filled with some really good reads. My lowest rated book was two stars, and I had several five star reads. Without further ado, let’s just get into the breakdown of what I read in March.
Kari’s #endgamereadathon TBR
Fact: I have never participated in a readathon before.
It should be a piece o’ cake, right? Nevertheless, here is my TBR list for such the occasion.
Ashley’s #endgamereadathon and OWLs Readathon TBR
Readathons, readathons! Readathons galore!! I never really knew that readathons were a thing until I got more involved in the online bookish community. Before that, reading was always a solitary comfort activity for me. I never knew that it could be a competitive thing that people did for achievement. That being said, I will admit to being somewhat competitive and also that I love the idea of readathons. It’s interesting to me to try and push myself as far as I can with my reading to see how much I can get read in one month. I’ve always been more interested in the month long ones, but I might have to try to do a week long one at some point. I also want to try and do a 24 hour readathon at some point, but I also really value sleep so who knows if I ever will.
