June 7th marked the one year anniversary of my first post on this blog. I can’t believe it’s already been a year, who knows where the time went? (Not me, that’s for sure).
Top 5 Thursday | Reasons to Be Happy
Everyone needs something that’s going to help them to get by and get through the day. Lately, I have been finding that I’ve been extra exhausted and dragging my feet, so it felt like a really good reason to reflect on some things that make me really happy. It never hurts to remind yourself of why things are actually really great in your life. Misc Monday | 6 Month 27 Books in My 27th Year Update
Today is my half-birthday! I am officially 27.5 years old, and in honour of this I want to take you back to a post I made on my 27th birthday: 27 Books to Read in My 27th Year. In that post I wrote about 27 books that I wanted to read before my next birthday. Since half a year has passed, I thought it might be fun to check back in and see where I am at in this special TBR of mine.
Ashley’s June TBR
After May, where I ended up throwing most of my TBR out the window and reading whatever I want, I’m going to try and keep things light this month. I am going to hope to get to a couple of different things, but I’m just going to let myself mood read for the most part. It’s going to be a hectic month, so I don’t want to put too much pressure on myself. So without further ado, here are my reading plans for June:
Ashley’s May Wrap Up
May was a bit of an interesting reading month for me. I started out with these really good intentions to read a lot of fantasy books and then I kind of started to feel somewhat burnt out on it, and hit a book I didn’t really want to continue with it. I was talking to my friend Cheyenne, and mentioned wanting to throw my TBR out the window and just read whatever I wanted. She encouraged me to do what was best for my reading, and so I did. That’s not to say I didn’t read any fantasy this month, because I did get to a couple which was nice. I think because of this I will probably be a bit more loosey goosey on my TBR in June, which will be more forgiving to me as I move into the end of the school year.
Ashley’s May Haul
I am a bit embarrassed about how big my May haul is. I promise that I didn’t really do all that much book shopping this month except for one or two things, but so many things that I had ordered in previous month came in and so it makes it look like I went absolutely crazy with my shopping. So I guess, technically, I did go crazy in the past months. Just know that I was actually pretty reasonable this month, it’s just that all of my previous crazy ended up coming to my mail box in various shipments this month. Pretend that I’ve inserted the See No Evil Monkey emoji here, because I’m definitely a little bit embarrassed.

The girls are older and wiser, sort of, and navigating the world of adulthood.
Ashley’s May TBR
I’ve decided to do something a little different with my reading plans in May. I’ve just come off of April where I completed two different readathons, during which I read some books which have been sitting on my TBR for a rather long time. It felt really good to check those off of my list, so I decided to dedicate May to knocking some of the books I have been putting off, off my list. However, I decided I am going to focus a little bit on fantasy books in particular.
Ashley’s April Haul
Another month, another book haul. I always try to be good but apparently I am a book hoarder. I really might need to go to book rehab. I’m just kidding of course, because I love to read and the books that I pick up are always a good investment for me. One day I’m going to have my very own library and it’s going to be beautiful. That being said, I still was a lot better than I was in March.
