Another month, another book haul. I always try to be good but apparently I am a book hoarder. I really might need to go to book rehab. I’m just kidding of course, because I love to read and the books that I pick up are always a good investment for me. One day I’m going to have my very own library and it’s going to be beautiful. That being said, I still was a lot better than I was in March.
Ashley’s April Wrap Up
April was such a good reading month! I did two major readathons, OWLs Readathon and End Game Readathon (hosted by Kari and I), and successfully completed both. I even read some things that weren’t on my TBRs for my readathons, and read some short stories with my English 11 class. I read 21 things this month, which is pretty good if you ask me! I loved almost everything I read, so I really can’t complain about it all that much.
Review | Romanov by Nadine Brandes
**Disclaimer: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
Romanov by Nadine Brandes is an alternate history version of the execution of the Romanov family, the last royal family of Russia with magic.
Ashley’s March Haul
I set a resolution this year that went something along the lines of “Read more of what you already own.” This month I did terribly on that resolution. I treated myself perhaps a bit too much. However, much of what I purchased was from a sale in the Kobo bookstore, so at least they won’t take up a huge amount of space on my bookshelf.
Ashley’s April TBR
April is going to be a busier reading month for me. Well, I normally read a lot, but I don’t normally plan as many books as I have planned for this month. However, I don’t normally participate in readathons and this month I am participating in two. In case you missed my previous posts, I am co-hosting the End Game Readathon with Kari, and just participating in the OWLs Readathon. I’m a little late to writing this TBR, so a couple of my reads for the readathons are done and I have already had to make a couple of changes from my initial TBR. So this will be my updated TBR, and yes, I will still be including the ones I’ve technically already finished. Let’s get to it!
Ashley’s March Wrap Up
March has come to an end. I have no idea where the time went, but here we are getting ready for April. This wasn’t my best reading month, and I seem to recall that last March I read almost thirty books. So this month wasn’t quite that, but considering I took a lengthy vacation where I visited one of my best friends in the world and had minimal time to read, I did pretty good. This month I read 20 books, and I will say on the whole that it was filled with some really good reads. My lowest rated book was two stars, and I had several five star reads. Without further ado, let’s just get into the breakdown of what I read in March.
Ashley’s #endgamereadathon and OWLs Readathon TBR
Readathons, readathons! Readathons galore!! I never really knew that readathons were a thing until I got more involved in the online bookish community. Before that, reading was always a solitary comfort activity for me. I never knew that it could be a competitive thing that people did for achievement. That being said, I will admit to being somewhat competitive and also that I love the idea of readathons. It’s interesting to me to try and push myself as far as I can with my reading to see how much I can get read in one month. I’ve always been more interested in the month long ones, but I might have to try to do a week long one at some point. I also want to try and do a 24 hour readathon at some point, but I also really value sleep so who knows if I ever will.
Ashley’s February 2019 Book Haul
The ever present problem for me as a bookworm is that I never have enough space for books, but I love books and there are always new and exciting ones coming out. Since joining bookstagram and following a bunch of authors on Twitter, my purchasing habits have gotten a little bit out of hand. Last year there were a couple of months where I went a little crazy and in hindsight, I don’t even want to know how much I spent on books last year.
Ashley’s March 2019 TBR
For March I’m keeping things pretty simple. Or at least I’m trying to. It’s spring break at the end of the month and I’m going on a trip, so I’m hoping to avoid bringing lots of physical copies of things with me just to make my life easier.
Ashley’s February 2019 Wrap Up
I did a pretty good job this month at keeping up with my TBR. The reasonable expectations I’ve set for myself have been easy enough to keep up with, and I’m pretty proud of myself! This month I have read a total of 14 books.
