January marked the start of a brand new reading year. I’m excited for a fresh start and to read some really good books. I’m hoping to be able to tick more books off of my physical TBR, so I’ve joined a TBR challenge through bookstagram. Five of the books I read this month are from that.
**Disclaimer: I received a free early access copy of The Project by Courtney Summers through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to them and the publisher for this opportunity.
The Project by Courtney is an upper YA thriller novel about cults and complicated family relationships. Lo is trying to figure out what happened to her sister. It is set to be published on February 2nd, 2021. I rated it four stars on GoodReads.
The October OwlCrate was another pretty good box. It had some items that were definitely unconventional, but overall I really liked the designs of the items and the general practicality of them.
**Disclaimer: I received a free advanced reader’s copy of Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to them and the publisher for this opportunity.
Burn Our Bodies Down by Rory Power is her sophomore novel. It’s a YA horror/mystery thriller. The novel is about a girl named Margot who has a complicated relationship with her mother, and ends up returning to the town her mother grew up in to find out more about her family history. It was published on July 7th, 2020. I rated it 4 stars on GoodReads, but it’s probably more of a 4.5.
The September OwlCrate box was a pretty great box. I’m usually quite happy with the OwlCrates, but I loved the practicality of a bunch of the items in this box. Overall, they did a wonderful job with the curation of this box.
