Books I read in December:
1. Merriment and Mayhem by Alexandra Bellefleur
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: eBook
Review: This was cute and fun. I liked how she kept getting into trouble and he kept saving her. They had such a great dynamic. It was definitely fun to read.
2. Only Santas in the Building by Alexis Daria
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: eBook
Review: I really enjoyed this very cute romance. The characters were well-developed. I liked the dynamic between them, and the FMC internal monologue.
3. The Wedding Witch by Erin Sterling
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: Time slips are my thing lately. I liked meeting the third brother and the development of the relationship through texts and emails. I did feel like it was a bit rushed. I wanted a bit more. The hijinx was there though, and I will forever love Rachel Hawkins/Erin Sterling.
4. Moral Disorder by Margaret Atwood
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was an interesting collection of short stories. I really enjoyed how they were interconnected and seemed to follow the same characters. Margaret Atwood can be hit or miss for me, and this wasn’t my favourite.
5. The Golden Couple by Greer Hendricks
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: This was a twisty mystery. I liked that it was multi-point of view, and really kept me guessing about what would happen next and who to trust. Some of the characters sucked as people, but they often do in mysteries which is why they are so fun.
6. Puck and Prejudice by Lia Riley
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: Another time slip romance for me. This was an interesting read for me. I went into it with low expectations, so I really wasn’t disappointed by it. The characters were interesting, but I did want more development and growth for them. It was a fun read though.
7. Three Feathers by Richard Van Camp
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was a really quick read, but I felt that it was well-done. The art was good and a lot came through in this very short story.
8. The Outside of Circle by Patti Labbucane-Benson
Rating: 5 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was an incredibly powerful graphic novel. The art was really well-done. The storyline was incredibly impactful. I liked the character growth and the journey of the characters.
9. Sword Catcher by Cassandra Clare
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: This was just okay for me. I’m starting to realize that fantasy, especially high fantasy, isn’t really my genre. There are some interesting characters, but I don’t plan on continuing.
10. The Christmas Clash by Suzanne Park
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This romance would have been better for me if I hadn’t read it for my student book club. It was cute though. I liked the characters. It isn’t the best thing ever, but it had some really good elements to it.
11. Dakwakada Warriors by Cole Pauls
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was an interesting graphic novel. The characters were kind of cool. I loved the art style. The story wasn’t my favourite.
12. Metal Slinger by Rachel Schneider
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: eBook
Review: This was recommended to me by a friend and I’m glad to have read it. It was an interesting fantasy world, and I liked the world building. I didn’t love the twists that happened later but it did make me want to continue with the series.
13. Going Dark by Melissa de la Cruz
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was a unique read. I picked it up on a whim and read it in pretty much one sitting. I liked the suspense and the tension. I was very satisfied when I made some guesses about what was going to happen next correctly. The story moved quickly and I was on the edge of my seat.
14. An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: This is not my favourite of the Bridgerton books, but it was a fun enough read. I liked Sophie a lot as a character. There were some really good moments plot wise, but also some moments where Benedict was seriously annoying.
15. A Merry Little Meet Cute by Julie Murphy and Sierra Simone
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This book was SO cute. I had a great time reading it. It was cute and quirky, and the main couple had a great dynamic. I kept giggling at the silly moments and the hiding of all the porn set pieces. I really want to read the rest of the series.
16. The Murder Game by Carrie Doyle
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Audiobookk
Review: This wasn’t my favourite YA mystery. It had some interesting moments, but it’s kind of coming across as somewhat forgettable in the long run.

Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was a decent graphic novel. I liked the art style, and the story. There is a really good message here. Definitely worth reading.

22. Midnight Ruin by Katee Robert
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: This was a fun continuation of the world. I really liked the dynamics between the characters.
23. Mother Love by LR Wright
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: eBook
Review: It’s fascinating to me how little time the Karl Alberg’s books spend with Karl Alberg. It was an interesting mystery.
24. Little Eve by Catriona Ward
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This took me a bit to get through. I really enjoyed it though. There were some intriguing characters and things that I didn’t really expect to it. This was definitely dark, and I think it is a worthy read.
