February was an unexpectedly good reading month for me. I ended up reading 32 books, which is amazing considering it’s more than there are days in the month. I’m really impressed with myself, especially since I hit my goal of 50 books minimum this year. I also picked up some really exciting books this month. You’ll find them all below the cut!
The books I hauled in February were:
- All the Tides of Fate by Adalyn Grace
- Together, Apart by Various Authors
- Fable by Adrienne Young
- The Silvered Serpents by Roshani Chokshi
- More Than Maybe by Erin Han
- We Are the Ashes, We Are the Fire by Joy McCullough
- The City of Brass by S.A. Chakraborty
- A Court of Silver Flames by Sarah J. Maas
All the books I read in February were:
1. Three Dark Crowns by Kendare Blake
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: This was a really interesting idea worldbuilding wise. I had a lot of theories about the greater world that surrounded the island. I also really liked the perspectives of the different sisters and how they saw the actions of the other sisters. It was fun to know things that they didn’t. I definitely think I will be continuing on with this series.
2. The Lives of Saints by Leigh Bardugo
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was a neat collection. The art was gorgeous, and I really appreciated the thought that went into it. I’ve always been a fan of seeing more about the fantasy worlds that I love so this definitely hit that niche.
3. Moxie by Jennifer Mathieu
Rating: 5 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I’ve had this one on my shelf for forever, but I finally prioritized it because of the upcoming movie. It was soooo good. I had a lot of fun watching the main character come into her feminism and realizing that it needs to be intersectional. She was relatable, and the characters were interesting. I highly recommend this.
4. Clown in a Cornfield by Adam Cesare
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I picked this one up on a whim, and honestly I had a lot of fun. It was by no means the best thing I’ve ever read as some parts are a little bit cringe, but it was neat to read a book that was essentially a slasher flick. If that’s something that’s up your alley, then you’ll probably enjoy this book. It’s gory and a little corny, but engaging all the way.
5. The Wedding Date by Jasmine Guillory
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I don’t read a lot of romance but this one was super cute. I loved the meet cute and then watching the relationship develop. I really felt the chemistry between the two characters. It’s a fun story and if you haven’t yet checked it out, you should!
6. The Lightning Thief Graphic Novel
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: The adaptation loses a bit of the charm of the regular story, but all in all it was a good time. The art is nice and I still genuinely love this story. I did feel like it left out some of the best bits.
7. Sea of Monsters Graphic Novel

11. The Lost Hero Graphic Novel

Review: The Heroes of Olympus adaptations were better than the PJO ones. I really liked the art style, and the story was a bit better developed because there was a bit more length to these ones.
12. Son of Neptune Graphic Novel
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review:See the above review.
13. The Weirn Books Volume 1: Beware the Silent Woods
Rating: 4 Stars

14. The King of Crows by Libba Bray
Rating: 5 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: This was one of my most anticipated reads last year, and I put it off because I was nervous about the series conclusion. However, I fully and completely loved this book. It was fast paced and compelling. I liked seeing the characters grow and develop. I was nervous about how all the threads would come together, and personally I wasn’t disappointed. This is definitely one of my all time favourite series.
15. The Boy Next Door by RL Stine
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was an interesting throwback, but I’m not really sure it held up to my more modern sensibilities. It was spooky and interesting, but not anything spectacular.
16. The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb by RL Stine
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I had fun revisiting a Goosebumps books as it’s been ages since I’ve read one. I had fun with the story and it was fast-paced. The curse was spooky, and the villain wasn’t what I was expecting.
17. Curtains by R.L. Stine
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was a strange story, but it kept me guessing and that was good. It was quick and got the job done, which was what I was looking for.
18. Be More Chill Graphic Novel by Ned Vizzini, David Levithan, and Nick Bertozzi
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: The art in this was really well done. It was an interesting story and I liked the science fiction aspects that are incorporated into the otherwise pretty normal story. It was well done and I’m intrigued by the concept. It wasn’t my favourite thing ever, but I had fun.
19. Descender Vol 1 by Jeff Lemire, and Dustin Nguyen
Rating: 5 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I loved this story. The art was gorgeous and the story was really fascinating. I found it really interesting. I got really attached to the little robot and I really felt for it as the story progressed. I definitely wanted to continue on in this series and read more about the world.
20. A Map of Days by Ransom Riggs
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: I didn’t enjoy the continuation of this series as much as I did the rest of the series. I didn’t like how Jacob acted but I also didn’t like how he was treated. The greater conspiracy was interesting, and I think I’ll continue along but it just wasn’t my favourite.
21. Orphans Vol 1 by Roberto Recchioni and Emiliano Mammucari
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I really liked the art of this graphic novel. The story was interesting and I found it fast paced and action packed. I would definitely be interested in reading more of this series.
22. Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare

Review: This was a re-read, and I just really loved it. I don’t have a ton to say.
23. Legendborn by Tracy Deonn
Rating: 5 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I won this in a giveaway so I’m planning on writing a full review at some point.
24. Beastly Bones by William Ritter
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: This was a really interesting continuing to the series. I liked the introduction of new characters, and the different creatures that they dealt with. I really love Abigail as a character and I’m looking forward to continuing on with the series and seeing what else happens to her and Jackaby.
25. Let’s Get Invisible by R.L. Stine
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I don’t know how R.L. Stine has so many ideas, but he’s definitely a creative writer. This was an interesting story and I enjoyed the twist ending.
26. The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton
Rating: 5 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I love The Outsiders. The characters feel comfortable and familiar and the story is familiar and warm. I really love the story, and it is always fun to re-read it. I read it with one of my classes, so I’ll be reading it at least twice more.
27. A Midsummer Night’s Dream by William Shakespeare
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: I read this with one of my classes, so I’ll be re-reading it twice more this year. It was a lot of fun to explore the story once more. It brings up some interesting questions, and while it’s not my favourite Shakespeare play, I had fun with it.
28. Deep and Darkest Red by Anne-Marie McLemore
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: I loved the different layers of this story. The characters were really great and the magic in the story was a really interesting twist on the story. I loved how the characters interacted and the way the present paralleled the past. I highly recommend this story.
29. It’s Not Summer Without You by Jenny Han
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: I liked the second book a lot more than the first one. It made me cry when I read about Susanna. The love triangle was really interesting and I enjoyed the back and forth. I’m interested to see how the trilogy will end.
30. Thrice Told Tales by Catherine Lewis
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was a recommendation from my coworker, and I really liked it. It was funny and educational in the best way possible. It was all a lot of the things that I already knew, but I liked the accessible way that they passed along the terms.
31. Trees Vol 1 by Warren Ellis and Jason Howard
Rating: 4 Stars
Format: Physical Copy
Review: This was another recommendation from my coworker. The art in this was beautiful and the story line was really interesting. I got confused at the start of the story, but once I figured out who the characters were, it got a lot easier to understand and enjoy the story.
32. We’ll Always Have Summer by Jenny Han
Rating: 3 Stars
Format: Audiobook
Review: I was really disappointed by Jeremiah in this book. I was rooting for him, and he really let me down. However, I definitely predicted who Belly was going to end up with and I didn’t hate the ending. It was an interesting story, but not my favourite in the series.
That’s everything I finished and hauled in February! What did you read?
