Ashley’s April Haul

04.29.2020 by Ashley // Leave a Comment

What a weird month this has been! I’ve been doing a ton of reading, but not a lot of book buying, which is probably for the best.  However, I did still end up with some books this month so we’re going to do a quick and dirty haul for you today.

My first three books I picked up this month were from my local indie.  I found out they were doing some ordering online and some curbside pick up, so since I’m still working, it felt important to me to support them and to order some books from there.  I found three books that they listed as having that I was interested in.  I ordered and then later went to pick them up.  Here’s what I got from my local indie:

1. Dark and Deepest Red by Anna-Maria Mclemore

2. My Dark Vanessa by Kate Elizabeth Russell

3. A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder by Holly Jackson

My next book was a pre-order.  One of my favourite reads from last year was Wicked Saints and I had the OwlCrate exclusive edition.  I really wanted my editions to match so I knew that I wanted to get the OwlCrate exclusive copy of the sequel when it was announced.  I’m happy because even though it’s a new book, it’s a book I already read this year because I had an eARC from NetGalley.  You can find my review here.

4. Ruthless Gods by Emily A. Duncan

The last book I got in April wasn’t your traditional novel.  Some of my friends were getting into Dungeons and Dragons, and I wanted to join in.  This required me to get a player’s guide.  I wanted to get a physical copy because I do better with that than a pdf.

5. Dungeons and Dragons Player’s Handbook

That’s everything I got in April.  What books did you get this month if any? Which ones should I read first?
