Another year and another year of reading! There’s something about a fresh start and a new year that just makes me really excited! So because 2020 is here, I decided to set a new batch of reading resolutions. Well, they are somewhat similar to last years, but personally I don’t mind that so much.
1. Read 50+ books in 2020
I know I can and will read more than this. I know I could set my future goodreads goal to higher, but I won’t. I don’t want the pressure and I also really like seeing how far the past that 50 I can get. It’s fun for me.
2. Blog more and do more reviews
Personally, I have really been enjoying the blog and writing all different kinds of posts for it. I want to keep it up and try and get some good ideas and original posts to throw out there into the blogosphere. I’d also like to try and do more reviews for this blog. So if there are any specific kinds of posts you’d like me to write or books you’d like me to review, let me know!
3. Read a variety of books
I have narrowed this resolution this year because as much as I like to be diverse in my reading, I want to not put too much pressure on myself. If I branch out a little past what I usually read, I will be pretty happy.
4. Read more of already owned books
I’m not going to put myself on a buying ban or anything, but there are so many unread books in my shelf that I want to give them the love they deserve by actually cracking them open and reading them.
5. Read more Shakespeare, ideally 1 play/month
I am not going to put too much pressure on myself to do this, but if I can read some more plays this year, I will be pretty happy. I want to read all of his plays eventually and I think if I can do one a month I’ll make decent progress.
6. Finish Tamora Pierce re-read
I’m well on my way to doing this and I’m sure it’ll get done pretty quickly. These books make me super happy, so this isn’t really a chore at all.
7. Read the Royal Diaries books
I made it my mission last year to collect all the Royal Diaries books, so now I want to make it my mission to read all of them. They’re pretty quick reads so it wouldn’t take too long but it’ll be fun.
What are your reading resolutions for the year? Let me know in the comments below.
