September was such a light month for me when it comes to hauling books. There were a bunch of books that I wanted to buy but I did my best to restrain myself and I only let myself purchase two outside of my subscription boxes that I got. I haven’t been doing very well on my resolution of not buying as many books this year, but I’m doing way better than I did last year, so that’s a definitely a plus. Without further ado, let’s jump into what I got. You’ll find it under the cut.
- American Royals by Katharine McGee
- Darkdawn by Jay Kristoff
- The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson
- The Bone Houses by Emily Lloyd-Jones
I bought American Royals and Darkdawn off of Amazon as pre-orders. I am very excited about both of them although I haven’t officially finished Godsgrave yet, and I will need to in order to read Darkdawn. It’s technically not the best way to go about buying books, but I was surprised by how much I loved Nevernight and I was pretty sure I’d like the rest of the series as well. The Haunting of Hill House and The Bone Houses both came out of my Owl Crate this month. I’ve only read The Haunting of Hill House, and I thought it was super weird, but I’m still glad to own it. I definitely wrote a blog post comparing it to the show, which you can find here.
What books did you buy this month? Which of these should I read first? Let me know in the comments below.
