I have a whole bunch of book tags that I meant to do on Bookstagram, but I never really got around to them, which is too bad. I thought that it might be fun to share them here, and Kari agreed, because it’s always nice to have different kinds of things to post. So we’re going to start a Tag Tuesday series here on the blog!
Today’s tag is called The Avengers Book Tag, and I can think of nothing more appropriate to find a home on Kari and my blog than this. 🙂
Iron Man: A book that made you laugh
- Anything by Rick Riordan makes me laugh. He does such an excellent job of walking that line between serious subject matter and humour, and I always find myself both chuckling and wowed at how the story is unfolding.
Captain America: Book set in a different era
- The Diviners by Libba Bray is a really cool historical fantasy. It tells a story of teenagers with psychic abilities all while set against the Roaring 20s in New York. There are flappers, slang, and some seriously disturbing murders. I highly recommend it.
Thor: A character that has strength that you admire
- Feyre from the A Court of Thrones and Roses series by Sarah J Maas has a certain strength that’s really admirable. She deals with a lot over the course of those books, which was why I was happy we got to see her have some nonstressful time in A Court of Frost and Starlight.
Hulk: A book that made you angry
- The first title that popped into my head for making my angry is Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This story really did a disservice to the canon of the Harry Potter world and I’m definitely still bitter about it.
Hawk-Eye: A book that’s underrated
- I feel like anything and everything that Tamora Pierce has written doesn’t get nearly enough love from the greater reading world. Her books were absolutely formative for me and I definitely think they deserve all of the hype.
Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch: Sibling love
- The Weasleys are some of my favourite bookish siblings. I love that we get various depictions of them over the years and that we get to watch the grow up and grow as people. We get to see them fall in love and experience loss. They’re very well written in my opinion.
Ant-Man: A book you want to read but can’t
- I genuinely can’t think of anything to put here. The only things I can’t read are things I don’t have access to and I don’t really worry about that too much. There’s a lot of time to read and lots of books out there to enjoy.
Loki: A villain you can’t help but love
- I’m not normally the villain loving type to be honest. There have been villains that I enjoy somewhat, but none of them are popping into my mind at this moment.
