two friends and too many books
July was a crazy busy month for me! It was my first month of summer vacation and I had a bunch of stuff on the go: a garage sale, a wedding, camping, and helping my parents move! However, in between and around all those things I was able to get a bunch of reading done. I read 26 books in July. You can find my Wrap Up and brief reviews under the cut.
June is always a crazy month in the life of a teacher. You’re exhausted and ready for summer, and so are the kids. Then it becomes time for report cards and you go a little crazy trying to get all the marks in so you can finalize the grades, and then you have to write comments. To top all of that off, I also came down with a cold in June, so it probably wasn’t my best reading month ever. That being said, I still read a fair few things and I really enjoyed a lot of them! April was such a good reading month! I did two major readathons, OWLs Readathon and End Game Readathon (hosted by Kari and I), and successfully completed both. I even read some things that weren’t on my TBRs for my readathons, and read some short stories with my English 11 class. I read 21 things this month, which is pretty good if you ask me! I loved almost everything I read, so I really can’t complain about it all that much.
March has come to an end. I have no idea where the time went, but here we are getting ready for April. This wasn’t my best reading month, and I seem to recall that last March I read almost thirty books. So this month wasn’t quite that, but considering I took a lengthy vacation where I visited one of my best friends in the world and had minimal time to read, I did pretty good. This month I read 20 books, and I will say on the whole that it was filled with some really good reads. My lowest rated book was two stars, and I had several five star reads. Without further ado, let’s just get into the breakdown of what I read in March.
I did a pretty good job this month at keeping up with my TBR. The reasonable expectations I’ve set for myself have been easy enough to keep up with, and I’m pretty proud of myself! This month I have read a total of 14 books.
I had a pretty good reading month to start off 2019, because in January I read 19 books. That was completely unintentional but seemed appropriate in hindsight. I really, really enjoyed almost all of the books I read this month. None of them were super disappointing. Additionally, I did really well on my TBR for the month of January. I read all of the things that I put on it, with several extras that weren’t on it. I even read a couple of brand new releases that I had been anticipating, which is always super fun. Most of the books I read were audiobooks this month, but I had several physical books along with one eBook and one graphic novel. Below is the list of books I read, and I’ll give you my rating, the format in which I read it, and a quick review. So without further ado… Here we go!
This year was a crazy year for me with reading! I grew my bookstagram to over 1600 followers, I started a book blog with Kari, and I read a whopping 231 books! It’s been an excellent year and I’m so thankful for all I’ve achieved.
I was trying to think of some way to wrap up my reading year, and trying to wrack my brain for ideas. I saw a friend who did a one sentence review for every book she read this year, but I didn’t want to do that because I didn’t think anyone would want to read it! 231 is a lot of reviews! I decided, instead, that I would just go through my 2018 Reading Resolutions and let you know how I did on each one of them!
