Before I got really into bookstagram and tags, I never knew there was such a thing as an A to Z challenge. I think it’s actually a pretty cool thing to do. I tried to do one last year, but I wasn’t super successful so I thought I would try again this year.
Top 5 Thursday | Ashley’s Best Sequels of 2019
Does anyone else have a problem with follow through? I do. I fall in love with these series and then I need to have their sequels in my life and then I put off reading them. I don’t know why I do this, but it just seems to be something that happens. That being said, I did try my best to finish up some series I was reading and to continue one with some of the series I was reading. This post is a highlight reel of my top 5 best sequels I read in 2019.
Tag Tuesday | 28 Books to Read in my 28th Year
This isn’t your typical tag, so I suppose I’m kind of fudging this in order to post it. However, I think you will all forgive me because it’s my birthday! That’s right. Today I turn 28 years old and I thought I would tag myself to do a similar challenge to what I did last year when I turned 27. If you missed it, I came up with a list of 27 books I wanted to read in my 27th year, which can be found here. I did okay in the end, but I like to challenge myself so we’re going to do it again and we’re going to try and do even better!
So without further ado, here are 28 books that I’m hoping to get to in my 28th year.
Misc Monday | Anticipated December Releases
December is one of my favourite months of the year. It means my birthday and Christmas. This year, it will also mark the one year anniversary of my relationship with my boyfriend. There will be turkey dinners and presents, and hopefully lot more time for reading. I’m looking forward to it.
Misc Monday | 27th Year Wrap Up
When I turned 27 at the end of 2018, I wrote a post featuring 27 books I wanted to read. That post can be found here. On my half-birthday, I did an update, which you can find here. This is my final update, because tomorrow I turn 28 and my 27th year has come to and end. So let’s see how I did. Which of the books that I hadn’t yet read at 27 and a half, have I now read? You’ll find out below the cut.
Ashley’s December TBR
How are we already in December? I’m not sure but here we are!
Ashley’s November Wrap Up
I had a rather interesting reading month this month! I thought I was having a bad one where I hadn’t read very many books, but I ended up reading 16, which is pretty good in my opinion. I also read my longest book of the year this month, and did okay at catching up on some series that I had been procrastinating on. Find out what I read below the cut!
Ashley’s November Book Haul
There were so many books I wanted to read in November but I was good! I only bought a few books for me, and then I got a few books for Christmas gifts.
Misc Monday | Unboxing – Owl Crate’s Call Down the Hawk Box
One of my most anticipated reads this month, this year even, was Call Down the Hawk by Maggie Stiefvater. The Raven Cycle is one of my favourite series and when I caught the first hint of the upcoming Dreamer Trilogy, I was super excited. I knew I had to read it and get my own copy.
Book Review | When Paris was Dark by YM Masson
**Disclaimer: I was kindly sent a free copy of When Paris Was Dark by Y.M. Masson in exchange for an honest review.
When Paris Was Dark by Y.M. Masson is a historical fiction account of the life of a young boy named Alain who lives in Paris during the German occupation in World War 2. It is inspired by events from the author’s own life. It was published on April 29th, 2019. I gave it three stars on Goodreads.
