Can you believe it’s 2020 already? I can’t, but here we are and that means that there is a whole year of brand new books coming our way. It’s problematic because that means my TBR will never end, but it’s also so exciting because there are so many new books to look out for and to try and get my hands on.
January seems to be a month filled with releases that I have been waiting for and eagerly anticipating. I don’t know if I’ll be picking all of these up, but here are the ones I’m most looking forward to.
January 7th Releases
- One of Us is Next by Karen M. McManus
I have to admit that I think this one could have gotten away without a sequel or a spin off, but I can’t say that I’m not interested. I really like Karen M. McManus as a writer, so that’s a good chunk of the reason why I’m planning on reading this one at some point. I don’t know if it will be one that I read, but I think it will be worth checking out.
- The Night Country by Melissa Albert
Again, this one probably didn’t need a sequel in my opinion, but I’m still intrigued. The Hazel Wood was the first OwlCrate book I ever got and so that’s exciting and I’d be interested to see where Albert took a sequel. I found her writing style really interesting so that’s where my interest would lie in this one.
- Come Tumbling Down by Seanan McGuire
This book is definitely one of my most eagerly anticipated reads of the year. I love this series and I can’t wait for more of it. I read the summary and it said it’s about Jack again, and I’m definitely looking forward to more of her.
January 9th Releases
- Chosen by Kiersten White
Slayer was such an interesting book and I really enjoyed the returning visit to the Buffyverse. I was definitely looking forward to more in that world, so I can’t wait to pick up Chosen when it comes out.
January 14th Releases
- Infinity Son by Adam Silvera
I have to admit to being a little torn when it comes to this one. I’m not sure if I’m fully interested in the plot of this book or if it’s just that I’ve followed Adam Silvera for so long on Twitter and watched him tweet about the writing process. It’s really interesting to watch that from afar. I think I’m going to have to check it out.
- Conference of the Birds by Ransom Riggs
I haven’t read Map of Days yet, but I will eventually. I liked the world of the peculiars and am definitely interested in revisiting it when I finally get around to it.
January 21st Releases
- The Hand on the Wall by Maureen Johnson
The Hand on the Wall is one of my most eagerly anticipated reads this year. I read the first two books in the series in 2019 and I have been desperate for this one since I finished The Vanishing Stair. Why isn’t it January 21st yet???
January 28th Releases
- Blood Countess by Lana Popovic
I haven’t really heard a lot about this one, but I stumbled across the plot of it and I’m just super intrigued. I like the historical fiction of it, and it should be an interesting read.
Are you anticipating any of the same books as me? Which ones should I read first? Let me know in the comments below.
