Kari’s February TBR

02.07.2019 by Kari // Leave a Comment

I had a bit of a high reaching goal in January and last month really sucked reading wise, so for February I’m taking my time and putting books down that have a high probability of being finished.

Shadow & Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I am super duper late to the Grishaverse, but it’s better late than never! I’m halfway done with it already and I’m loving it. It’s high fantasy and I’m enjoying where it takes place. It’s always nice to see different parts of the world represented, especially when they’re translated into fiction. The Grishaverse takes place in (what I’m translating it as) a Slavic area. Considering Queen Bardugo is originally from Jerusalem, this makes it all so much more special.

Beautiful You by Chuck Palahniuk

I’ve been meaning to read some of Mr. Palahniuk’s writing. His books have been described to me as ironic and sarcastic, with a dark sense of humor. I feel that describes me to a ‘T’.

Beautiful You is about a woman who has a night with a man and is his last ‘test subject’ for a line of feminine products that satisfy women so much that there is no need for anything but more batteries. I plan to read Fight Club at some point, but I won’t lie: the premise of this book made me chuckle when I read the back and I’m interested to see how it plays out.

Runner-up Contenders

(aka if I finish these other two)

Heir of Fire by Sarah J. Maas

Crown of Midnight had me ugly sobbing at the end. I’m so excited to see what’s next for Celaena/Aelin.

Vengeful by V.E. Schwab

I was so excited for this book since I read Vicious and for some reason when it came out it just sat there. So, Victor Vale, here I come!

What kind of books are you planning for this month? Have a big stack waiting for you or trying to take it slow?
